Responsible Gambling
The Mountain Gambler believes in responsible gambling. This means gambling as a pastime, or in certain cases, gambling as a source of income. Income being the keyword. If you find yourself gambling with money you can't afford to lose, such as rent, mortgage, grocery, etc., you may have a gambling problem.
Signs you might have a gambling problem:
- Gambling away all monies, including overdrawing your accounts.
- Selling items, borrowing money, or stealing to finance gambling.
- Inability to "walk away", even when you're up.
- Neglecting work or family due to gambling.
Compulsive gambling is a progressive behavior disorder and affects many people. Just like an alcoholic, compulsive gamblers do not gamble for fun. If you need help getting back on track, please call 1-800-522-4700.
All calls are kept confidential.
Be smart, have fun, think and be responsible.
